The purpose of our website is to list products, tools and equipment related to Solar PV and Solar Hot water. Contact us via the feedback button, and let us know if you think we have missed a category.
Each new user receives the first two ads for free. After that, ads start at $5 each. Please click here to see our complete price list.
To buy or sell items on Solar Trader, you first have to register a free account. Each new user has two free ads allocated where, after, you can purchase individual ads or subscribe to a limited and unlimited package. Ads stay live for up to 30 days, depending on the package. You find information about available packages and pricing here.
You will find a link to unsubscribe from our newsletter at the bottom of each newsletter. To unsubscribe from listing updates, listing expiration reminders and new messages, please log in to your account and navigate to bookmarks & subscriptions in the left-hand side menu
This is a list of all your favourite items. On each lilsting, you will find a bookmark logo to add to your bookmark list. Bookmarked items are fast and easy to find later.
You can use our detailed search to find the perfect replacement for a broken PV module or Inverter. Here you can specify the electrical and mechanical characteristics you are looking for.
Our video tutorials, which explain many of the site’s functions, can be found here. Join our Youtube channel to be updated when new videos are added.
To register, click the “Submit Ad” button in the top right corner and register for a new account or click the “Register Now” button on our homepage. You can register via Google, LinkedIn, Facebook or via an individual email. You will receive two free ads upon registration.
Please check that your username and password are correct and try again. If this does not help, please click “Forgot Password” and reset your password. If you still have issues, please contact us by using the contact form found here or via the site feedback button.
Click the “Forgot Password” link on the login screen to reset your password.
After you have logged into your account, navigate to your Dashboard. From here navigate to “My Profile” to change your password.
Register first and log in to your account. Navigate to the user’s store page and click on leave review.
After logging in, you can find your invoices by navigating to “orders” on your Daschboard.
To sell your ad faster, you can purchase one of 6 promotions for your ad. Click here for a detailed list of available promotions.
Click on “Submit Ad” in the top right-hand corner of the home screen. If you are not logged in or registered, complete the login or registration process. Next, select the package that you would like to use to submit an ad. If you are a new user, you will have received two free ads that are already allocated to your account. If you have used up your free ads, select a package to purchase more ads. After you have completed the checkout process, you can continue submitting your ad.
To view an expired ad, click on “listings” on your dashboard. Turn on the toggle switch to show expired listings.
To renew an expired ad, click on the yellow button that says “view”. On the listing management page that opens up, click “renew” and select the package you would like to use to renew the ad. If you do not have a suitable package, purchase a new package first.
Log in to your account and navigate to the “listings“ tap from the left hand side menue. Open up the ad management page by clicking on the yellow button that says view. On the ad management page, you can mark the ad as sold. In case the buyer did not go through with the purchase, you can also mark the ad as unsold again using the same button.
To permanently delete an ad open up the listings page on your dashboard and use the red “delete” button to delete the ad. This can not be undone.
Depending on the package you have used to submit the ad, your ad will be online for up to 30 days. Thereafter you can elect to renew the ad.
Log in to your account and navigate to your listings. On the listing page, click the green button next to the listing to edit your listing
Log in to your account and navigate to your listings. On the listing page, click the “promotions” button next to your user name and select the promotion and duration. You can choose multiple promotions for the same ad.
Your ad will stay in your account for an additional 45 days after it has expired; after that, it will be deleted automatically. To see expired ads, navigate to your listings and toggle on the button to show expired ads.
Ensure you have added your item in the correct category. Give your ad a good headline and description. Use as many of the taxonomies as possible to describe the characteristics of your items. Add 3-4 good photos and datasheets to your listing. Purchase promotions or a Premium Profile to make your ad stand out.
Yes, you can book an advertisement banner on Solar Trader. Please click here for pricing, available spaces, and to book the advertisement.
Please only upload jpg or png images and pdf documents. Addionlay, please ensure that all images and documents do not exceed 8MB.
First, please try and clear your browser cache and cookies, log off from your computer and log back in. Then run a search for your listing in its category and see if it appears as a promoted ad.
If the above does not solve your problem, please keep in mind that promotions may be delayed by up to 24h. This is to eliminate spam and other bad ads. If after 24h, your ad still does not show your promotion, please contact us.
To see which promotions should be applied to each of your ads, please visit your dashboard.
After editing your existing ad, it may display “locked for review”. This is due to a security measure to prevent 3rd parties from editing your ad. To unlock your ad, please open it again via the edit button, follow the steps, and save it again. This should unlock and put your ad live again. If the message persists, please get in touch with support via the “feedback” button on the right-hand side of your screen or by using the contact here
After you have logged in, you can communicate with sellers or buyers via the built-in message function or via the seller’s mobile number if listed. You can find both on the right-hand side of the individual listing page.
New messages will be indicated to you by the bell icon on the top right-hand side of each page. Clicking the “bell” icon will lead you to your notifications centre on your dashboard. Here you will find new messages. Once you have marked a message as read, it will be accessible from the individual listing. If you have added your email address to your ad, you will also receive an email whenever a new message is available. For security reasons, you will only be able to respond to the message from within your Solar Trader account.
Messages are generally received within 1 minute of sending this. Depending on the notification setup received, he will receive an email notifying him about the new message on Solar Trader, or he will see the message the next time he logs into his account.
Yes, you must register a free account to communicate with sellers.
Yes, if you have subscribed to the email notification for new messages. Sellers will also have to list their email on the individual ad in order to receive the email notification.
Payment terms are agreed upon between the seller and the buyer.
Kidly contact the buyer and agree on a solution.
Register and log in to your account. Send them another message or contact them with the details provided on the buyer page.

Solar Trader is an online marketplace, where trades take place directly between buyer and seller. To protect the buyer, we have set up a rating system. Just review the ratings and comments of a seller before buying, so you can get a feeling for the trustworthiness of the seller or if there were problems in the past. Please also rate your trading partners after each purchase or sale to help other customers.
There are private and commercial sellers on Solar Trader. For information on shipping and return policies, please contact the seller.
Sellers on Solar Trader act independently and you must contact the seller for the freight cost. You can do so via the messenger system. Clarify how the item will be shipped and if you require a forklift to unload this. Shipping in Australia can vary from 1-2 days to 5-10 days, depending on the location and service used.
A Premium Profile is a paid add-on on a subscription basis that lets your profile stand out.
With the Premium Profile subscription, you can create a customizable storefront on Solar Trader. For a complete list of benefits, please click here.
After subscribing to the Premium Profile, go to your account and “Business Details” will appear in the left-side menu. Here you can edit your details like contact number and opening hours, upload your background banner, and add your physical address.
Yes, you can place advertisements on soalrtrader.com.au. What advertising spaces are available can be found here. Please get in touch with us to discuss personalized solutions.
You can manage your advertisement and check your conversion rate through your advertisement dashboard by clickeing here.
Click the “Reset Password” link on the login screen to reset your password.
Check your inbox or spam folder to confirm your subscription and to receive your discount.
